今天听到的CNN新闻里面有这么个表达：a boost to merchants' bottom lines 。bottom line，很容易理解为底线。不过它是商务词汇，至少有三个意思。

black Friday 黑色星期五

感恩节是11月26日，是美国和加拿大共同的特有节日了，感恩节过后的星期五被叫做black Friday,这个有点意思。黑色在西方文化的内涵和中国有类似之处，都有不详之感，黑色星期五给人的联想更是不妙，因为按基督教，最后的晚餐就是在周五。还有，black总用来形容美国股市崩盘的日子，就像1869年9月24号星期五，美国黄金市场大跌波及股市,那就是black friday。还比如1929年10月29日的黑色星期二也是black Tuesday，美国股价暴跌，国家从此陷入经济大萧条。
